  Application  

Hydrogenation reactions:

The best known application of the Wilkinson's catalyst is in the hydrogenation reactions of olefins, especially selective hydrogenation. It is capable of converting olefins (e.g., olefins, dienes, etc.) to the corresponding alkanes, and in some cases with high stereoselectivity.

It efficiently catalyzes the reaction of hydrogen with olefins to produce saturated alkanes.

Asymmetric hydrogenation:

Wilkinson's catalysts can be used to catalyze certain asymmetric hydrogenation reactions, especially in the synthesis of chiral and drug molecules. High stereochemical control can be achieved through ligand design.

Hydrogenation reactions:

It not only hydrogenates olefins, but also catalyzes other types of hydrogenation reactions, such as the hydrogenation of aromatic hydrocarbons and certain metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions.

Organic Synthesis:
