Room Temperature Vulcanized Methyl Silicone Rubber (RTV Methyl Silicone Rubber, CAS No. 63148-60-7) is a type of silicone rubber that can be vulcanized at room temperature. It contains functional groups—typically hydroxyl (-OH)—at the ends or along the backbone of the molecular chain. These groups can undergo cross-linking reactions in the presence of moisture in the air or a suitable catalyst, forming a high molecular weight cross-linked elastomeric network.
One widely used grade is RTV-107, also referred to as OH Polymer, which serves as a key raw material in condensation-cure RTV silicone systems. RTV-107/OH Polymer provides the base polymer functionality for one-component and two-component RTV formulations, ensuring excellent processability and final product performance.
