Vinyl silicone oil(CAS 68083-19-2), also known as vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (vinyl-PDMS), is a type of functional silicone fluid that features vinyl groups (–CH=CH₂) at both ends of the polydimethylsiloxane molecular chain. These reactive vinyl groups enable the material to participate in addition (hydrosilylation) reactions, making it a key raw material for producing high-performance silicone rubbers and elastomers.
This product combines the flexibility and stability of standard PDMS with the reactivity of terminal vinyl groups, providing excellent formulation versatility in a wide range of silicone-based systems.

Characteristics of Vinyl Silicone Oil
Excellent thermal and chemical stability
Good compatibility with other silicone resins and fluids
Highly flexible molecular structure for improved elasticity and mechanical performance
Reactive vinyl terminals suitable for crosslinking and curing reactions
Non-toxic, low surface tension, and good spreadability
Available in a wide range of viscosities (from 100 to 100,000 cSt or higher)
Viscosity Range | Typical Applications |
100 – 500 cSt | Used as a diluent or softener in liquid silicone rubber (LSR) formulations, coatings, and personal care products where lower viscosity is required for easy handling and spreading. |
1,000 – 10,000 cSt | Ideal for addition-cure silicone rubbers, encapsulants, potting materials, and silicone release agents. Offers a balance of flow and mechanical strength. |
20,000 – 60,000 cSt | Applied in mold-making silicones, RTV-2 silicone rubbers, and adhesives. Provides enhanced elasticity and dimensional stability. |
100,000 cSt and above | Used in high-performance elastomers, gap fillers, and electronic-grade encapsulants requiring high strength and thermal endurance. |
